About Destinationless Travel

Hey! We’re Bailey & Daniel

The married couple who started this blog.

We’re endlessly curious, always planning the next adventure, and happiest when we’re on the move. Travel isn’t something we do once or twice a year — it’s the way we’ve chosen to live our lives.

In 2016, we started sharing our travels online on this blog as a hobby, simply documenting the places we were exploring and the lessons we were learning along the way. Over time, that passion grew into a full-time career built around helping others travel with confidence.

Our travel style sits somewhere between adventure and comfort. We love joining food tours, sampling local cuisine, and tasting great wine just as much as we love camping, hiking, and ending up on a trail somewhere unexpected. You’ll find us scuba diving one day and sipping piña coladas on the beach the next. We’re just as happy staying in a hostel as we are in a five-star resort — we don’t discriminate, if it’s a great experience, we’re in.

After more than a decade of full-time travel, we’ve learned what works, what doesn’t, and what’s worth your time. That experience shapes everything we share — honest advice, practical tips, and recommendations based on real life on the road.

As our travels have grown, so has the team supporting this work. We collaborate with trusted travel experts who help us stay current and helpful, especially in places we can’t be all the time. You can read more about our trusted team of travelers below.

If you’re interested more in how we met (spoiler alert – we met traveling!), started the blog, and grew this business…

Brittni

Hi, I’m Britt — a Canadian-born adventurer with a serious case of wanderlust and a passport that’s always ready for the next stamp! My love for travel started after high school, when I set off on my very first backpacking trip across Europe. That trip sparked my passion for exploring, and I’ve been chasing new experiences ever since.

Over the years, I’ve discovered the vibrant cultures and breathtaking landscapes of Southeast Asia — from Thailand and Cambodia to the Philippines and Indonesia. Vietnam holds a special place in my heart (I’ve been three times… and honestly, I’d go back again tomorrow!). I’ve also backpacked from Colombia through Central America up to Guatemala, soaking up the culture, food, and unforgettable adventures along the way.

When I travel, I’m always looking for that perfect mix of adrenaline and relaxation. One day you’ll find me hiking volcanoes, swimming with manta rays, or saying yes to something wild like a snake blood shot in Vietnam (yes, that happened!). The next, I’m stretched out on a beach in Mexico, Cuba, or Fiji with a good book in hand. I truly believe the best trips are all about balance.

Recently, I took on a new adventure and moved to New Zealand — a country that feels like a playground for outdoor lovers. Since arriving, I’ve been embracing the mountains, lakes, and adrenaline-filled experiences — including jumping off the largest bungee in the country! I can’t wait to keep exploring the world and inspiring others to chase their own unforgettable adventures.

Evan

Hello! My name is Evan Pierce, and I’ve been “on the road” so to speak, since my early 20’s when I quit my bartending job and purchased a one-way ticket to Southeast Asia from my home in Oregon in the United States. Since then, I have backpacked, motorcycled, and eaten my way around North and Central America, Asia, and lots of places in between.

I’ve lived in Nicaragua teaching English, rode my motorcycle from Alaska to Panama, journeyed through the Himalayas, hiked lost through jungles, and lived with a Vietnamese family I randomly met while traveling there for several months.

I’m passionate about connecting with locals everywhere I go by learning the language and having “go with the flow” adventures. Of course, I love just being a regular ol’ tourist too!

I live in Cambodia with my wife, Meghan (you can read more about her below), and our cat, Patcha, who all share my love of food, adventure, and naps.

Meghan

Hi there – I’m Meghan! The first moment I was swooned by travel was backpacking through Vietnam. I fell in love with the chaos and noise, food and genuine hospitality, and overall charm. I knew someday I’d live in SE Asia; it was just a matter of getting to that point!

Following that initial trip, I worked for a nonprofit that allowed me to travel all over the US, and eventually became a teacher simply to have more time to travel. But it still wasn’t enough! So I quit my job and hit the road, traversing across North and Central America and finally making my way back to Asia, where I now call Cambodia home.

While I love a good itinerary and spreadsheet, I’ve learned that going with the flow often makes for more memorable and unique travel experiences – like when my husband and I had an impromptu wedding in India with an entire neighborhood! But my expertise still lies in researching a location, picking out the can’t-miss sights, and crafting a seamless plan to see it all.

I’m a slow traveler and a lover of mountains, craft beer, history, and punk music. I’ve definitely booked a trip simply to meet a tattoo artist or to catch a concert (always worth it!) and am always looking forward to adding another country to my list!

Brittni

Hey there, I’m Hannah! I’m a content writer mostly based in the UK these days, although I have lived in Vietnam, South Africa, Bali, and Argentina over the last decade. I’m really passionate about authentic travel experiences and getting the most out of every destination, with some time to nap or chill by the pool along the way.

When travelling, I like to mix it up between tourist spots and local gems. Often, touristy places are popular for a reason, but there’s something so special to me about getting off the beaten track and seeing a more raw and real side of a place. My top travel experiences include driving the Ha Giang Loop in Northern Vietnam, camping on the beach in the Philippines, and staying on a houseboat in a South African lagoon!

As someone who likes to do things by the book, travel has definitely taught me that there’s a solution to every problem, even if it’s not always the one you might expect. And when I’m not travelling, you can usually find me catering to my dogs’ every whim or trying to hit my next parkrun milestone – and of course, I’m eternally planning my next trip.

Luke

Hey! I’m Luke, a UK-born travel writer who’s happiest when I’m seeing the local side of the places I visit, not just the headline sights (although those are great too!). I travel mostly solo, mixing a loose plan with plenty of spontaneity. You’ll usually find me walking a little further than I meant to, taking the scenic route, or striking up conversations to learn what life is really like beyond what you typically see as a tourist.

Over the years, I’ve lived in the UK, Germany, and Thailand, and those chapters shaped the way I travel. Living abroad taught me to slow down, pay attention to the everyday pace of life, and show up with genuine respect for the people and places I’m visiting. It also gave me a practical eye for the details that make trips easier, how to navigate new cities, what’s worth prioritizing, and how to balance big “must-sees” with the quieter, special moments you’ll remember just as much.

Outside of travel, music has always been dear to me. I’ve been playing guitar since I was young, and I’m currently in a jam band, which probably explains why I’m drawn to places with a strong sense of character, creativity, and community! If you’re after warm, experience-led stories and guides that help you travel thoughtfully (and have a brilliant time doing it), you’re in the right place.

Theresa

Hey – I’m Theresa! I’m the kind of traveler who believes great adventures are often closer than we think. You’ll likely find me road-tripping through beach towns, hiking national parks, ziplining through mountains, and exploring cities that know how to show you a good time. Ohio is home, and while it’s often overlooked, I’ve come to appreciate its hidden gems—like having miles of trails and waterfalls practically in my backyard!

Travel has been woven into my life for as long as I can remember, and my curiosity for new places has only grown over time. From trips with my parents and brothers as a kid and traveling as a competitive athlete in my teens, some of my favorite memories were made on the road.

These days, travel looks more like family traditions, summer beach weeks, quick escapes with my husband, and scenic drives that are just as memorable as the destination. I’ve explored the Carolina coast, down through the Sunshine State, ski towns in New York and Colorado, and desert landscapes out west. Sprinkling in the occasional city break reminds me that adventure can be found wherever you land.

From college to career, I’ve been writing in one form or another for more than 15 years, and storytelling has always been at the heart of what I do. I love sharing experiences, capturing the little moments, and turning trips, big or small, into stories that feel honest, relatable, and worth telling. Afterall, that’s what real-life travel is—imperfect, joyful, and always worth the trip!

Trelle

Hi, I’m Trelle! I have a lifelong love of travel that’s taken me from the Rocky Mountains to the Eiffel Tower and so many unforgettable places in between. Growing up on the Canadian prairies gave me a deep appreciation for wide-open spaces and those breathtaking sunsets – the kind I still chase, whether they’re dipping behind a wheat field at home or melting into the ocean in Hawaii.

My passion for exploring the world started early with childhood trips to Hawaii, a place l’ve returned to again and again. The islands have become a touchstone for my family, the backdrop to some of our most meaningful memories – including the day I got engaged.

I’ve also travelled across Canada and Europe, falling in love with the beauty, culture, and stories each place holds. Along the way, I’ve become passionate about helping other travellers – especially families – feel confident, inspired, and excited to explore together.

Today, travel is even more meaningful because I get to share it with my favorite companions: my husband and our two boys. Experiencing the world through my children’s eyes has become my greatest adventure – blending discovery, connection, and the simple magic of seeing new places as a family.
